Sensory-Friendly Performance, Sunday Sept 11 @ 1:30pm

Thanks for choosing our Sensory Friendly Performance of One Gold Coin–Una moneda de oro. Our Sept. 11th at 1:30 p.m. show is designed to create a welcoming afternoon of theatre for children with autism or sensory sensitivities.

This performance includes lower sound levels and limited activities that produce loud sounds, house lighting on low in the theatre during the show; families are free to talk and exit the theatre during the performance; and a designated quiet area will be near the theatre space (parent/guardian is required to stay with their child at all times).

Please contact us at or (301) 879-9305, so we may be aware of specific needs for your child.

About the Play

Could the magic of giving be locked inside one little coin? When the wise old healer Doña Teresa comes to Regalo, she carries a gold coin that brings magic to everyone that holds it--but it must be given to one who truly needs it. But how do you decide who has the greatest need? And who does the coin's magic benefit most--the one who receives it, or the one who gives it away?

This interactive play about the power of giving is performed in English and Spanish by three actors with help from everyone in the audience, who become part of the play from where you sit! Best for ages 4 and up.

CAST: Javier del Pilar, Elicia Moran, and Elle Sullivan

DESIGN AND CREATIVE TEAM: Ali Oliver-Krueger, Peter Oliver-Krueger, Emily Townsend, Cecilia Esquivel, Dani Cortaza, Brian Gillick, Andrea Schewe, Rick Westerkamp, Douglas Maryott, and Steve Wolf

This production is made possible in part through funding by Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County and Maryland State Arts Council and the generous support of a legion of donors and partners. Thank you for supporting arts for kids and families in Maryland!

My kids really enjoyed InterAct this year. They were so age-appropriate and I liked how they always set the standard for expectations and behavior with the kids. Hope we can continue with this activity for the children!
Being a majority bilingual (Spanish) school (we also have a Spanish Immersion program), I could tell that the students really, really enjoyed the play and the actors were phenomenal!!
Doing the play in English and Spanish was incredible! That was incredible for our students, many of whom are native Spanish speakers! It was awesome, and added a whole new level of connection with the children.
